Our Story

Made for the trail. Built to perform.

TrailForge was started by people who spend real time outside. Not in marketing offices. Not at trade shows. On ridgelines, river crossings, and multi-day routes that break gear fast and expose every design flaw.

Every product we build goes through field testing before it reaches the store. We cut patterns, we test seams, we push waterproofing ratings until they fail, then we fix them. The result is a range you can load up and trust before dawn on day one.

Performance Technology

Built into every layer.

TrailForge products use a core set of technologies developed over eight years of field iteration. This is what makes gear that holds up.

💧

ForgeShield Waterproofing

20,000mm hydrostatic head rating with a durable water repellent face treatment that survives 50+ wash cycles without reapplication.

🌬️

AirFlow Membrane

35,000 g/m²/24h breathability rating keeps moisture moving outward even when your output is high. No steam-room effect on long climbs.

Ultralight Frame Construction

Packs and shelters engineered on a weight budget without sacrificing load control. Every gram justified, every seam load-tested to 3x field load.

♻️

Recycled Shell Fabrics

Outer shells made from post-consumer recycled nylon and polyester, without downgrading technical performance ratings.

🔒

Lock-Seam Stitching

All critical seams are taped and lock-stitched to prevent delamination under dynamic load, cold-temperature flexing, and abrasion contact.

🧊

ThermoCore Insulation

Synthetic loft insulation that retains 90% of thermal performance when wet. Designed for the days when conditions turn worse than forecast.

📐

Articulated Pattern Cuts

Every garment pattern accounts for the full range of motion required on technical terrain: hip flexion, shoulder reach, and crouching stance.

🛠️

Field-Repair Compatibility

Zippers, hardware, and closures specified to accept standard repair kits. You can fix a TrailForge product at a trailhead, not just at a service centre.

How We Build

From concept to trailhead.

Every TrailForge product follows a four-stage development process before it ships. No shortcuts, no speed-to-market compromises.

01

Field Research

Team members spend time on trail with current gear, documenting every point of failure, frustration, and unmet need.

02

Design & Prototype

Technical patterns developed with experienced cut-and-sew partners. First samples tested internally before any external review.

03

Field Testing

Prototypes into the hands of real users on real routes. Feedback cycle drives final material selection and feature changes.

04

Production & QA

Each production run inspected against spec. Waterproofing rated. Seams tested. No product ships until it passes every benchmark.

The ForgeShield jacket got hit with a three-hour downpour on day two of the Overland Track. Completely dry inside. No other jacket I own would have handled it.

Ordered, arrived in two days, fit perfectly, and when I wanted to swap the size the return process took about four minutes. That kind of customer experience is rare now.

I've spent a lot of money on gear that looks good in photos and fails in the field. TrailForge is the first brand in years where the product matched every claim on the spec sheet.

FAQ

Common questions, answered.

The things people ask us most before they buy and after they order.

What is your returns policy?

30 days from delivery, no questions asked. If the product fails or doesn't fit, contact us and we will sort a replacement or full refund. No restocking fee, no receipt-hunting required.

How do your sizing runs compare to major brands?

TrailForge apparel is cut to a slightly longer torso and more generous shoulder than standard athletic sizing. We publish detailed measurements for every garment. If you are between sizes, size up for layering use and size down for a close athletic fit.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship to over 40 countries. International orders typically arrive in 7 to 14 business days. Import duties are the responsibility of the recipient and vary by country. We publish estimated duty costs on each product page.

How do I care for waterproof garments?

Machine wash cold on gentle with a technical fabric wash (not regular detergent). Tumble dry low for 20 minutes after washing to reactivate the DWR finish. Do not dry clean or iron shell fabrics. Full care instructions are printed inside every garment.

Are TrailForge products suitable for winter alpine conditions?

Our shell jackets and insulation pieces are rated for alpine use in temperatures down to around -15°C depending on activity level. For technical mountaineering and extreme cold, we clearly indicate in each product description whether it is appropriate for those conditions.

Can I get advice on which products suit my planned trip?

Absolutely. Use the contact form below, describe your planned trip and what conditions you expect to face. Our team responds within one business day with specific product recommendations matched to your actual use case.
